Sharing the love: Reaffirming Our Commitment to Equity, Diversity & Kindness

Shaw + Scott was built on the belief that there has to be a better way to help our team thrive at both work and home as well as foster diversity and equity so everyone here can reach their true potential. Said differently, we want everyone who is part of the Shaw + Scott family to love what they do, love their job and love their life. That’s what we call being Shaw + Scottish.

As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday here in the United States, though many are concerned about what the future may hold, I am truly grateful and proud that Shaw + Scott is safe, inclusive and welcoming to all. We are an amazing, loud and sometimes wild family that cherishes, protects and elevates one another.

As an affirmation of our commitment to equity, diversity and kindness, we have updated our logo to include a safety pin, which has become a universal symbol of support and solidarity. It’s a small thing, but sometimes small things can make a difference.

Tim Cook, CEO of Apple, recently noted, “Our company is open to all, and we celebrate the diversity of our team here in the United States and around the world — regardless of what they look like, where they come from, how they worship or who they love.”

When all your employees feel safe, valued and equal, the rewards and dividends are bountiful. Sometimes the road is bumpy and we’re not always perfect, but we’re always pushing forward and working towards a better tomorrow—now more than ever.
